GAA Club Call - Ard An Ratha

Flotto
There was no winner of our weekly Flotto.
The numbers drawn were 8, 19, 20 and 22 and the nearest were Seamus McGhee, Kentuckey and Seamus Connolly, SandfieldThis weeks jackpot stands at €2400.00 and this weeks selling team is Mary Kellys Team.


Golf Classic
The Club are organising a Golf Classic and will take place on Saturday 17th August. Teams and sponsorship is most welcome. The Time Sheet is filling up well at the moment and anyone interest can contact Chairman of the Organising Committee George Doherty. Prizes are to the Value of €4000.00 where they will be presented at a function in the Narin Inn.


Senior/Reserve and U21
Training continues in Pearse Memorial Park on Tuesday and Thursday evenings for Senior/Reserve and U21.


U-10s
The U-10s continue to train on Wednesday evenings. This Saturday 27th July they will take part in the next round of Blitzes (check South Notes for details)


U-12A
The U-12A Team went down to a very strong St. Michaels team. Ardara did not product the goods on the day. Thanks to all the players and Management for all their work during the year.


Summer Camp
A very successful Summer Camp was held this week in Ardara. Over 100 children took part and thanks to all who helped make it a success.


U-14 Girls
The U-14 Girls have qualified for the County semi-finals against the winners of Four Masters or Glenfin which we hope may take place next week.

U-14 Boys
The U-14 Boys return Championship match with St Nauls will now be played in Ardara on next Thursday 8th August at 6.30 p.m.


U-16 Boys
The U-16 Boys beat Aodh Rua last week in the drawn Regional Final. A gallent display by all the lads. They now play Cloughaneely in the Co. semi-final on the Banks (N. Mhuire) on next Tuesday 6th August at 7.30 p.m. We hope to see good support for this team.


Minors
The Minors played Bundoran in the Preliminary round of the Championship last Friday and went on to earn themselves a play off which will take place this Thursday evening 1st August in Mountcharles at 7.30 p.m.


Tickets
Tickets for this week-ends games will be distributed in Dohertys this Friday night 2nd August between 9.00 and 10.30 p.m. Anyone who booked tickets are asked to collect them during this time.


Club Holiday
Arrangements for the Club Holiday have been finalised. The group will depart for Tenerife on Sunday 20th October from Dublin and will return on Sunday 27th October. There are still 2 places available and anyone interested can contact John McConnell at (087) 6370074. €100.00 deposit will secure a booking.

Club has its website on air at the moment. Anyone away from home can view the site and see what is happening within the Club at the moment on www.geocities.com/ardaragaa Fixtures, matches played, history and pictures can be viewed on the site as well as much more.


Club Gear
The Club Gear is now on sale for both children and adults. Polo shirts, Fleeces, tracksuit bottoms and jackets are available. We are hoping that all Managers will encourage the children to wear the Club gear when travelling to away games.


History
The Club are compiling the History at the moment. Any information would be most welcoming to the Committee.

U-14 Girls
The U-14 Girls have qualified for the County semi-finals against the winners of Four Masters or Glenfin which we hope may take place next week.

U-14 Boys
The U-14 Boys return Championship match with St Nauls has been postponed due to the U-12s County semi-final on Saturday.


U-16 Boys
The U-16 Boys played in the Regional Final against Aodh Rua last Friday night in Mountcharles. A brilliant display against Aodh Rua earned them a draw. The replay takes place this Friday night 19th July in Mountcharles at 7.30 p.m


U-16 Girls
The U-16 Girls will play Killybegs at home next Tuesday 30th July at 7.00 p.m.


Minors
The Minors played Bundoran in the Preliminaryround of the Championship and went down by 5 points. Ardara being short a number of players will seek revenge at home. The return leg of this Championship match takes place this Saturday 27th July at 7.30 p.m. in Pearse Memorial


Well Done
Well done to Damien, Brendan and Eamon who played their part for Donegal last Sunday in the Qualifying game against Meath in Croke Park.


All-Ireland Championship
Anyone interested in going to the next round of the All-Ireland Championship which takes place on the week-end of 3/4th July are asked to have their names with the Club Secretary James McHugh by this Sunday 28th July. It is important that people book tickets to avoid disappointment.

Training continues in Pearse Memorial Park on Tuesday and Thursday evenings for Senior/Reserve and U21. The U-21 Draw took place last Thursday where we drew Kilcar in a preliminary round with the winners playing McCumhaills in the first round proper.


U-10s
The U-10s continue to train on Wednesday evenings. Last Saturday the Club has a successful day at the Glenties Blitz with the B Team winning the B section and the A Team just missed narrowly to Killybegs in the A Final. Well done to all concerned and also to the parents who travel to lend their support.


U-12A & B Boys
The U-12A & B Boys teams have qualified for the Co. semi-finals. They will play the winners of Malin or St. Michaels in the County semi-finals at a date to be arranged in the coming weeks.


Summer Camp
Next Monday 22nd July Summer Camp begins in Pearse Memorial Park for children between the ages of 7 - 12 years of age. The camp begins at 10.00 a.m. until 3.00 p.m. and children are asked to bring a packed luch. The Shop will be in operation for the week. €30.00 per child and €15.00 per each additional child.


U-14 Girls
The U-14 Girls have qualified for the County semi-finals against the winners of Four Masters or Glenfin which we hope may take place next week.


U-14 Boys
The U-14 Boys play St Nauls in the Championship this week and they play the return leg in Ardara next Monday night 22nd July.


U-16 Boys
The U-16 Boys played in the Regional Final against Aodh Rua last Friday night in Mountcharles. A brilliant display against Aodh Rua earned them a draw. The replay takes place this Friday night 19th July in Mountcharles at 7.30 p.m


U-16 Girls
The U-16 Girls played St Nauls in Mountcharles last Tuesday and had a convincing win They play St Nauls in Ardara this week and next Tuesday 23rd July they play Kilcar in Ardara at 7.00 p.m..


Minors
The Minors played Four Masters last week in Pearse Memorial Park in the League. Short of a number of players they lost by a goal. This week they play Bundoran in the Preliminary round of the Championship and next Wednesday 24th July in Ardara they play the return leg at 7.30 p.m.


Ulster Final
Charlene Kennedy and Mairead Gallagher played their part for the Donegal Ladies Team last Sunday in the Ulster Championship semi-final. They now play Cavan in the Ulster Final to be played on Sunday 4th August. The Club wish them both well.


Good Luck

Training continues in Pearse Memorial Park on Tuesday and Thursday evenings for Senior/Reserve and U21. Both teams have League match this weekend away.


U-10s
The U-10s continue to train on Wednesday evenings. This Saturday the U-10s take part in the Glenties Blitz.


U-12A & B Boys
The U-12A & B Boys teams have qualified for the Co. semi-finals. Two great matches in Fintra last Wednesday evening where the B Team had a comprehensive victory over Aodh Rua and the A Team beat Killybegs in a brilliant game of football. They now await the winners of the North Division.


U-12 Girls
The U-12 Girls Team played in the Co. Semi-final last week and lost to Termon on a score of (2-10) to (1-07). The team were Sharon Devenney, Paula Molloy, Leanne Sweeney, Natalie Sweeney, Sarah Kennedy, Lorraine Boyle, Sharon Sweeney, Sinead Concarr, Ciara Shovlin (0-02), Tanya Barrett (0-04), Sarah Connolly, Amanda Shovlin (0-01), Nicole Sweeney, Karen Craig (1-00), Orla Heena. This team has done very well and this was the only game they lost this year. Great credit to the Team and to the Management of Jackie Gallagehr, Connie Bennett and James McBrearty.


U-14 Girls
The U-14 Girls beat Killybegs last Thursday on a score of (2-08) to (1-01). They are now throughto the County semi-final having won all their games. They have one match left against Aodh Rua.


U-14 Boys
The U-14 Boys game against St Nauls was cancelled on Monday night last and will now be played next Monday night15th June at 7.30 p.m. in Mountcharles.


U-16 Boys
The U-16 Boys play in the Regional Final against Aodh Rua which takes place on next Friday 12th July in Mountcharles at 7.30 p.m.


U-16 Girls
The U-16 Girls played Kilcar in their first match of the year on Tuesday 2nd July and won on a score of (5-22) to (1-01). They play St Nauls on Tuesday 9th in Mountcharles and on next Tuesday 16th July they play St Nauls in Mountcharles.


Minors
The Minors played Dungloe away last week and were defeated on a score of (2-07) to (0-07). They play Four Masters at 7.30 p.m. in Pearse Memorial Park this week and next week they play Aodh Rua in Ballshannon at 7.30 p.m..


Ladies Ulster Championship
Charlene Kennedy and Mairead Gallagher play for Donegal in the 2nd round of the Ladies Ulster Championship this coming Sunday. The Club wish them both well.


Well Done
Well done to Jonathon Gallagher from Kilclooney NS who lined out for Donegal Primary Schools in the half time on Sunday last in Clones.

Ulster Final
Tickets for Sundays Ulster final will be distributed in Dohertys (to-night) Thursday 4th July between 9.00 and 10.30 p.m. It is important that all those who booked tickets collect them on the night. There are concessions for children €4.00 accompanied by an adult.

Training continues in Pearse Memorial Park on Tuesday and Thursday evenings for Senior/Reserve and U21.


U-10s
The U-10s continue to train on Wednesday evenings. Last Saturday the Club hosted the an U-10 Blitz. Thanks to referees Martin McShane, Stephen Gildea and Larry Gallagher and also to the ladies for that all important cup of tea.


U-12 Boys
The U-12 Boys are in action this week with the B Team in the Regional Final against Aodh Rua and the A Team against Killybegs.


Community Games
The U-12 Girls Team represented the County in the Ulster Finals of the Community Games in Enniskillen last Saturday morning. They qualified for the semi-final and lost by one point to Fermanagh in extra time. Great credit is due to them and also to Jackie, Connie and James who helped out with the team.


U-12 Girls
The U-12 Girls play Termon this week in the County semi-final of the County League, having one all matches in their group. This is a great achievement for the girls and should they won the County Final will be played this Saturday 6th July.


U-14 Girls
The U-14 Girls beat Killybegs last Thursday on a score of (2-08) to (1-01). They are now well on their way to the County semi-final having won all their games. They have one match left against Aodh Rua.


U-14 Boys
The U-14 Boys had a victory over St. Nauls last Friday night in the League which leaves them 2nd in the League table. They now begin their Championship with an away game to St Nauls next Monday 8th June at 7.30 p.m. in Mountcharles.


U-16 Boys
The U-16 Boys had a hard fought match against N. Conaill last week in the Regional Championship semi-final. This match they won and has gained them a place in the Regional Final against Aodh Rua which takes place on Friday 12th July in Mountcharles at 7.30 p.m.


U-16 Girls
The U-16 Girls play Kilcar in their first match of the year on Tuesday 2nd July and they play St Nauls on Tuesday 9th in Mountcharles.


Minors
The Minors play Dungloe and Bundoran away this week. Next Wednesday 10th July they are at home to Four Masters at 7.30 p.m. in Pearse Memorial Park.


Well Done
Well done to Charlene Kennedy and Mairead Gallagher who played for Donegal in the National League Final Div 2 on Sunday last. This Sunday they will line out again when Donegal take part in the next stage of the Ulster Championship.


Monthly Meeting
The monthly meeting of the Club takes place next Monday night 8th July in Dohertys
