By Eoin Hanrahan 4th Class
Junior Crehan was born on the 17th of January 1908. Junior was the 3rd eldest of ten children. His schooldays were spent in Shanaway national School. School was hard because beint the son of a teacher, his own children were punished twice as much as other childrenas he did'nt want to show favouritism.
Junior left Shanaway at 13 years of age and was sent as a boarder to St. Flannan's College ennis. He hated it and daid he was starved and killed. He left St. Flannan's after a year much to the disappointment of his father who wanted him to be a teacher. He then went t copsewood Agrictural College Pallaskenry, Co. Limerick. He liked it there and said that Salesian priests were the nicest priests - no use of the cane.
