General Introduction
This club is aimed at persons with a learning disability who have or are presently
attending the Vocational Training Centre I in COPE Foundation.
Aims & Objectives
Overall aim is to provide a social and recreational outlet for VTC members.
Objectives To encourage and develop participation, relationships and experience in use
of leisure amenities and activities at night time.
Programmes
Held one night a week (Tuesdays) from 7.00pm-9.00pm in VTC COPE Foundation (Gymnasium).
Activities are Pool, Badminton, Card Games, Darts, Indoor Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball,
Video, and Disco. Other activities can be arranged depending on demand from the 31
members, e.g. Karate or Aerobic Classes. As an alternative the club sometimes goes 10-Pin
Bowling; out for a meal; to the Cinema, Opera House or Concert.
Integration with other Youth Clubs or Sporting Clubs can be arranged as the premises
and Sporting Equipment of the club are plentiful. Please contact club if you wish to meet
and compete or participate in an activity, e.g. Inter-Club Basketball.
Volunteer Profile
Over 18 years - must be motivated and interested in working with members. Show
initiative and commitment and responsibility.
