General Introduction
ECO is a Voluntary Youth Organisation with over 4,000 members. ECO stands for the Irish
Environmental Conservation Organisation for Youth UNESCO Clubs.
Aims & Objectives
The personal development of young people through Practical Environmental Projects. To
promote the Protection of the Environment. To raise awareness, understanding and knowledge
of our environment.
Programmes
Provide Training and Educational Programmes. We organise support and develop ECO-UNESCO
Clubs. Practical Environmental activities. We research and promote Urban Forestry in
Ireland. Publish 'ECO News'. Run a Resource Centre for the public and ECO members.
ECO events include: Wastewatch, Summer Camps, Conservation Work, Leadership Training.
Our new project for '95/'96 Energy Watch Run in conjunction with The Irish Energy Centre.
Volunteer Profile
There are many ways to get involved in ECO. You can become involved by forming an ECO
club and becoming an individual member if you are under 25, or by becoming a family
