  • Series of lectures by Irelands foremost authorities on the famous Book of Kells.

    7pm Launch of Book, Impact of Cistercians on the Landscape of Ireland. By Geraldine Carville. Venue: Heritage Centre

  • Saturday 28th June

  • 9.30am. Summer School continues in Heritage Centre, 3 lectures today, Details, followed by Heritage Trail guided tour.

    10am. Living History Encampment opens in Abbey field, Knights in shinning armour, damsels in distress, Battles, Medieval Traders, Falconry, Archery, Bouncy castle, Fireworx Barbecue, Fabulous menu, Steak sandwich, Monkfish Skewer, Burger, sausage etc…………More

    8pm. Opening Night of Kells Heritage players presentation of Shadow & Substance by Paul Vincent Carroll. Directed by his niece Sile Campell. Followed by Patrons Night in the Kenlis Foyer. Sponsored by McGowan Civil Engineering and Guinness UDV. Black Velvet reception & refreshments plus photo opportunity with cast of play.
