DAY FOR LIFE

Oct 13 is being observed as the ‘Day for Life’ in the Church in this country. It seeks to highlight the central truth that all life is sacred in the sight of God. This year the emphasis is on euthanasia, a practice that is growing in a number of countries, some even giving it legal backing.

MISSION SUNDAY

Next Sunday Oct 20 is Mission Sunday.

The Pope has called for renewed missionary activity among the peoples of the world.

He has called each parish, each Diocese to ‘launch out into the deep’, to look beyond the concerns at home and show concern for the millions who have not heard about Christ ‘the Way, the Truth and the Life’

The Mission Sunday collection is the collection which enables the poorest missions survive. It is the one collection which assists in strictly evangelisation projects such as establishment of new dioceses, formation of native clergy, sisters, brothers and laity etc.

The collection is sent in its entirety; there is no administrative fee.

We ask you to bring your Mission Sunday envelope or an ordinary envelope to Mass next Sunday. The Offertory Collection next Sunday will also be included with the Mission Sunday collection.
