PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL MEETING

A meeting of the Parish Council will be held on Monday Jan 13 at 8.30pm in Parochial House.

FEAST OF THE BAPTISM OF OUR LORD _Jan 12 2003

To mark the Feast of the Baptism of Our Lord, we have invited the families whose babies were baptised during the past year to come to a Mass of Thanksgiving at 12.15 on that day

The enrolment of the children of the schools of the Parish for First Communion will take place next weekend (|Jan 18/19)

The children from Our Lady of Mercy School at the 11oc Mass and the children from St. Colmcille’s and Drumbaragh Schools at the 7.30 Vigil Mass.

ACCORD

Accord (formerly Catholic Advisory Marriage Council) are hosting a special day for married couples on Sunday 9 Feb 2003 (10-4pm) at the Ardboyne Hotel. The purpose of the day is to present marriage in a positive light, to highlight its importance and restore confidence and hope in this important sacrament.

This year the invitation goes out to those couples married in the last ten years.

The day will be conducted by Accord Facilitators and will conclude with Mass presided over by Bishop Smith. If interested please contact the Parish Office before Sunday 2 Feb.

CONFIRMATION COMMITMENT CEREMONIES

At Masses on the weekend of Feb 8/9 the Confirmation children and their parents will make a public commitment in preparation for the Sacrament.

TAX RELIEF ON DONATIONS T0 PARISH

During the next few days parishioners who contributed €250 or over to Parish Funds in the period Jan – Dec 2002 will receive a statement of their donation from the Parish Office.

PAYE taxpayers may sign the form and return it to the Parish Office before March 1 2003. Any benefit to Parish Funds will be made directly from the Revenue Commissioners directly to the Parish.

Self-assessed taxpayers should submit the form to the Revenue or to their accountants at the end of 2003.

We thank all for their donation during the year and we look forward to their co-operation.

Open Night in Headfort Arms Wedns 29 Jan (8-10pm) for all who expressed an interest in joining, or anyone who would like to take part in our community work. This evening will give all the information about the Society and you can decide if you wish to get involved. Refreshments served.
