VOCATIONS SUNDAY

Next Sunday May 11. The annual collection will be taken up at all Masses for the support of those studying for the priesthood for the diocese. Two students were ordained deacons at Easter- Padraic Corcoran, Kinnegad, in Maynooth and John Hogan, Clara, in Rome. The intention is that John Hogan will be ordained during the summer.

CEMETERY DRAW

The Draw will take place on Thursday 22 May in the Parish Office. Cards may be checked in anytime before Tues 20 May.

BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT GROUP

A Bereavement Support Group is now available to help people deal with the death of a loved one/ loss of any kind. A safe space will be provided for people to talk freely about their experience of grief. Contact Parish Office 40213.

The annual door to door collection has a long tradition in our Parish and will be taken up over the next few weeks. Collectors will receive their books soon and their time and effort in the collection is much appreciated.

Celebrating Creativity in Older People

The Bealtaine festival is a national and international festival, which celebrates creativity in older people. Meath Co. Co. has co-ordinated a number of arts workshops performances and events for the Festival. Two Chairs theatre company will relate stories of Irish legend and folklore in the Headfort Arms on May 12 at 2.30pm

Accord Navan are holding an Information Meeting on Wedns 28 May at 8pm in the Boardroom of the Ardboyne Hotel, Navan for people who wish to train as Accord Facilitators for Pre-marriage and Post-marriage work. All welcome.

CEMETERY DRAW

There is general agreement that St. Colmcille’s Cemetery is a well maintained

Cemetery. Cemeteries however are expensive to maintain. In Kells we are fortunate to have a highly successful Cemetery Draw for the past twenty-five years.

The proceeds of this Draw have financed the tarmacadam paths, walls, flowerbeds,waste disposal provision - and paid a caretaker.

This year’s Draw will be held next Thursday 22 May at 4pm in the Parish Office.

New promoters are always needed. If for some reason or other you cannot promote we ask you to join with your local promoter. A list of all promoters is available at the Parish Office.

  1. More stained glass windows, paint and decorate the Church (163) 63.4% *
  2. Change the layout of the interior of the Church (63) 24.5%
  3. Leave things as they are (31) 12.1%
  • *Many of those who voted for the first option added that they wanted no changes made to the stained glass windows.The Committee that will have to implement these findings appreciates the many extra comments that people added.
