INTO/GAA Sevens

Our girls have won the I.N.T.O./ G.A.A. mini-sevens football competition in Clare on five occasions, four in a row from '92 to '95 and again in 1998. The boys won in '95, making it a double that year. As a result the following people have represented our school in Croke Park on either All -Ireland semi-final or final day. The first was Caroline Walsh in 1992. In 1993 Emma Kearney represented our school. She has gone on to Captain Clare at minor level and plays in all positions from mid-field up for the Clare seniors. Denise Walsh was there in 1993 and 1994. She is now the Clare senior goalie. Michelle O'Donnell qualified also in '94 and she has played for Clare at u/14, u/16 and minor. 1995 saw Patrick Vaughan represent us. Even though Patrick, like all our other representatives, represented us in football, he was on the Mid-Clare U/16 Munster Championship winning hurling team in 1998. Clive Earley from Tubber also qualified that year. He plays club hurling for Tubber and Clare and football for Crusheen. For the girls in 1995 there was Caroline Brigdale who is now the Clare U/16 and Minor goalie. Then after a gap of 3 years Marie O'Grady was our representative in 1998. She played for the Clare U/14 team in '98 also. Crusheen Ladies Football Club has had tremendous success in recent years also and our pupils are fortunate to be able to continue their sporting careers with the various local clubs.
