This coin is a halfpenny struck in Dublin by John after he became King of England under, the authority of the moneyer Roberd.

Roberd is by far the most prolific moneyer in this period - the vast majority of pennies and many of the smaller denomination were struck under his authority.

The legends are :

Obverse : IOh.AN REX (King John)

Reverse ROBERD ON D (Roberd of Dublin)

This coin is in Extremely Fine (EF) condition, but is was struck significantly off-centre, especially on the obverse. These halfpennies are scarce in this grade - but well centred pieces are more sought after.
