This coin is an Irish halfpenny of George II dated 1760.

This type of halfpenny dated in the final year of George's reign uses a different, more mature, bust than the earlier sequence of halfpennies which run from 1736.

These coins were not actually released in Ireland until 1762, after George's death.

This coin is in About Uncirculated (AU) condition - it has a darkly toned surface but with lighter traces of original lustre around the devices and in the details. There is little evidence of actual wear , but there are some light rub marks particularly on the breast on the harp. There is some minor verdegris in the detail of the crown.

These coins are the most common of the George II halfpennies - representing perhaps 25% of the overall production. They are common in low grade but are scarce in grade above Extremely Fine and are rare in red Uncirculated condition.
