Situated just 5 miles from Waterford City, Kilmacow hhas an Upper and Lower Village approximately 1Km apart. The population of the villages is just under 700 people and the population of Kilmacow totals over 2,000 people. Kilmacow has three primary schools, a mixed school at Strangsmills, a boys school in Dangan, and a girls school in the Upper village.
