Suir Engineering wins 3rd successive All-Ireland title.

For the third year in a row Suir Engineering from Mooncoin are the Ireland inter-firms Senior Hurling Champions. In front of a huge partisan crowd, in glorious sunshine, there was never any danger that the home team would loose their crown.

Pat O'Neill of Young Irelands captained the team and many of Kilkenny's well-known clubs are represented in the team. Eddie Crowley of Mooncoin manages the team and the selectors are John O'Carroll (Dunamagin), Domo Connolly (Mooncoin), Pat O'Neill (Young Irelands) and Frank Fitzgerald (Mooncoin).

Suir Electric was founded in 1982 by the late Noel Doyle. It currently employs 330 people.
