The process has been developed around a group of solvents collectively named phytosols, whose unique character ensures that the aromatic oils of plants can be captured at or below room temperature. Because there are no high temperatures involved in the process, this means that the fragile heat sensitive components of an aromatic are not lost or radically altered during extraction as can often be the case with essential oils which are distilled.

Also, unlike the process used to obtain absolutes, the solvent is not a potentially toxic chemical and none of the solvent is left in the oil after extraction.

These two facts mean that one is getting an oil which is closer to the ideal sought by aromatherapists world wide.

Because there are no huge temperatures involved, energy consumption is greatly reduced. And because the whole process is completely enclosed there are no wasted raw materials. Both of these factors make phytol oils more acceptable to those who are concerned about the environment.
