Central School is located in Helena, the capital city of Montana.
It was the first graded public school in Montana established in 1876. Our
school has 271 students. Children begin kindergarten at age 5 and continue
at Central through fifth grade where most students are ten or eleven years
old. Central is in the middle of our town. It sits on a hill and students
can look out at the mountains from many of the classroom windows. The
school is surrounded by a large playground where the children play
football, kickball, soccer, four-square, swing and play on the jungle gym.
