We
were delighted to welcome the 'Pearl of Africa' African Children's Choir
to school on October 25th. They raise money for orphaned
and destitute children in Kampala, Uganda. They sang, danced and played
musical instruments. Their energy and enthusiasm was wonderful to watch.
During break, they joined with our own children in the playground. They
are a credit to their teachers and country. |
On 27th October, 5th and 6th Classes joined together to plant seventy five yellow crocuses to mark the deaths of so many children during the holocaust. Both classes have been talking about this dreadful time in History and therefore we planted the corms in the shape of a star of David as many of the children were Jewish. We finished with a few moments of silence as we thought about those who died. |

Sixth Class worked very hard on Friday 28th to raise money for the Earthquake victims in Pakistan. We held a cake sale at which just over €717 was raised! This is a wonderful total and a tribute to the very hard work put in by the boys and girls of 6th. We are also most grateful to parents and grandparents of all classes for donating cakes, buns, etc. Many
thanks to Miss Speiss and Mrs. Richards for taking charge and for
all their hard work. |
