On November 8th, our shoeboxes were collected by Samaritan's Purse. Thank you to all who took the time to fill a box (or two!). These simple gifts mean so much to so many children all over the world. The first 8000 Irish boxes are going to Mozambique. This year our
total was down - at 186 - but that still means a lot of very happy
children this Christmas. Well done and thank you Fourth Class for
your help - counting, sorting, packing and loading the van.

November 14th - Together with St. Mary's N.S., Maynooth, and St. Fintan's N.S. , Sutton, Kill o' the Grange officially launched a Primary Science flyer and new Primary Science Fair logo - Dr. Sci-man. Together with the National Children's Office (joint sponsors) we welcomed Minister for Children, Brien Lenehan, to take a closer look at our slime experiment. |

We were filmed and interviewed by RTE for Den News Roundup and photographs should appear in the Independent or Evening Herald on 15th November. Well done once again to our five 6th Class scientists, for their enthusiasm - and energy!

Sixth Class are most grateful to one of our grandparents, David Ferguson, for coming to talk about his experiences flying with the RAF during the Second World War. At the end of his talk, he agreed to pose for a photo with the class which wore, as you can see, flying jackets, metal helmets, etc.! The brown flying jacket in the photograph came from the First World War. It was particularly fur lined to keep out the cold in those open planes.
