Lough Gur is a focal area for sport of all kinds. Variety seems to be the key. GAA is the first sport and the most direct way of representing the area. Nonetheless the Rugby tradition is powerfully represented in Bruff as is Soccer at Hollycross where the playing fields surround Reardon's pub.
Only a little further afield is the Ballyneety Golf Club where the course is second to none and the additional facilities make the club worth visiting even if you are just a spectator.
