‘Outrageous’ bail conditions

SPEAKING at Republican Sinn Féin's annual Kevin Barry commemoration at Rathvilly, Co Carlow on November 10, Republican Sinn Féin Ard Chomhairle member Des Dalton, Athy, Co Kildare described as “outrageous” the fact that Kilcullen man Matt Conway, due to the draconian bail conditions imposed on him last January was not permitted to even attend the Ard-Fheis.
By prohibiting Matt Conway from even attending the commemoration, the 26 County State is in effect criminalizing the commemoration of our patriot dead.

All of this of course is part of a wider campaign to criminalize all those who continue to espouse the Irish Republican principles which inspired Kevin Barry and all those who gave their lives for Irish Freedom, he said.

Des Dalton laid a wreath at the Kevin Barry monument'on behalf of the Republican Movement.
