About Thomas Felle Born in Tynagh, Co Galway, he was educated at Portumna Community School and is now in his third year of studies in journalism. He has worked extensively in news journalism, having spent two summers with the Connacht Tribune newspaper in Galway, where he worked as a staff reporter.He has been published in the Irish Independent, and has written for sport with Highball magazine. He has been published in the Farmers Journal as well as a number of student publications including Yourope magazine, in which he was layout editor, and Euroreporter in which he was online editor.He was the first Irish representative to participate in the Euroreporter print project, which is organised by the European Journalism Training Assocation (EJTA), of which DIT is a member.He spent six months in Tilburg, the Netherlands, participating in a European journalism training course sponsored by the European Commission.He has worked as a political correspondent for DIT FM (college radio) and has completed a work experience programme in East Coast Radio in Bray. His specialities are general news and current affairs including politics, the North and Europe. He is very familiar with publishing software including Quark Xpress and Photoshop for both PC and Mac, and has a very good knowledge of web publishing, having a number of sites online.He is currently online editor with theLiberty. |
