Waterford City Enterprise Board Ltd., was established in October
1993 by the then Minister for Enterprise, Trade and employment.
The
key objectives set for the Enterprise Board was to influence
the employment opportunities within the city of Waterford by:
- Developing
an Enterprise Action Plan
- The
creation of local enterprise awareness and thus developing
an enterprise
culture
- Providing
financial assistance to individuals and local community groups
to assist commercially viable small enterprise projects
- Influencing
the allocation of resources for small enterprises from EU,
private and public funding sources.
The
activities of the Board are confined to projects where the capital
investment does not exceed €126,974 and employment
does not exceed 10 persons. The Board may assist both start-up
and business expansion projects in the manufacturing, craft,
tourism,
food and service sectors.
