Chaos Media &
Print Ltd is completing an original TV
documentary following four novice
Irish Ironman entrants as they prepared for their first ever Ironman
race in 2005 in Austria. |
For the first
time possibly anywhere in the world STONEMAD takes the audience through the use
of an 'on board camera' right into the middle of an Ironman swim
start. The result is spectacular.
We
are currently seeking a co-production partner or sponsor to facilitate
progressing STONEMAD
from its current rough cut status to completion. A 20 minute sample is
available to download below.

2006: Now this is getting silly! |
|
After filming
and competing at Ironman Austria last year, Alan suprised himself
by actually enjoying the race. He returned to Austria this
summer and enjoyed it even more. In doing so he recorded one
of the fastest times ever by an Irishman for an Ironman race and
became the first Irish person ever to go under five hours for the
bike section (once again using a borrowed bike from Fergus).
He now holds the Irish record of 4:57:34 for the bike and
has ambitions at the age of 40 to qualify for the World
Championships in Hawaii.
The pressure is on, Eimear has booked their
wedding on the beach in Hawaii for after the race - whether he
qualifies or not!

A most successful
and beneficial training weekend was recently held in Gormanston College
and Skerries beach. Many thanks to Brian Martin of Ironman Wetsuits
for sponsoring the event and to Dan Bullock of Swim for Tri who gave a
master class in triathlon swimming.
(Just a reminder to
all Saturday attendees that Chaos will send out a DVD of the underwater
footage that Dan took for his technique session as soon as possible) |
Alan
Ryan was recently interviewed by The Sunday Show on RTE Radio 1 who are
keen to follow our progress. The project has been given the Jimmy McGee
‘seal of approval’ on air. Jimmy an Irish broadcasting legend,
had commentated
on some of the original Ironman events in Hawaii for RTE.
He is delighted the event
is to
be revisited; especially now with the considerable Irish interest.
