Andy is a songwriter and producer who lives in Bantry, County Cork. He plays keyboards, guitar and
sings. He was based in London for ten years but now he has moved his song-writing and track-laying studio from London to Ireland where he has been concentrating on new singers and projects here. Andy
also produces music soundtracks for film, video games and radio adverts. He travels about once a month to England, Denmark or Sweden to write with singers and bands around Europe. He has also been
developing some projects from Ireland, including a 21-year-old singer from Cork called Elaine Lynch and a multi-instrumentalist from Bantry called Geraldine Gallagher. Andy is signed to
Warner Chappell Publishing for the world and to Fundamental for the UK and Ireland. He speaks French and Italian but not very well. Andy wrote seven songs on the million selling album from Worlds Apart that went triple platinum in France, including the hit singles 'Everybody' and 'You Said'
which you might have heard on the radio. Then he produced their single 'Everlasting Love' and their French number one song 'Je Te Donne'
which was a cover of the Jean Jacques Goldman song.More recently he has had a song recorded by N'Sync on their first album called 'Together Again'
which went to number one in Germany and sold 250,000. He has been working with TG management in Denmark writing songs for Aqua and a Danish singer called Tiggy. Before that
Andy recorded and produced several albums by Italian singing star Mike Francis and also recorded the Italian No. 1 hit 'The Rhythm is Magic' by Marie Claire D'Ubaldo, a South American
multi-lingual singer who came to work with him after being discovered by Loud and Clear Productions in London. He programmed and performed on her tracks, working with
Phil Chapman, Richard Darbyshire (Living In A Box) and Frank Musker. He also wrote a song on the East 17 album 'Up All Night' with Brian Harvey. In the area of
film music Andy has recently started writing the soundtrack for 'The Garden' by Tony Fisher. He has worked on film music with composer Richard Hartley for various films including Tree
of Hands, Dealers, Self-Catering, The Brilcreme Boys, The Rector's Wife and others. Recent stage productions include a modern opera written by avant-garde composer Benedict Mason
that was performed and toured by Opera North. Sound installations in art galleries include 'Unknown Race' by US artist Monica Chau and performance art sound for Dan Kwong
in his London premiere. Before that Andy programmed and played keyboards and guitar on new material by Billy Branigan, The Right Stuff, 16 Tambourines, and a
Jane Wiedlin (Go-Gos) album (produced by Peter Collins, a track of which was featured in the film 'Pretty Woman'). He toured America and Japan, performing live on stage with
Dave Stewart and Barbara Gaskin. He played guitar, keyboards and percussion on two tours and also recorded guitar on their album for Rykodisc
in America. As a result of business contacts made whilst touring in Japan he has been writing and producing radio jingles for the radio station FM Fukuoka in Japan. Since moving to
Ireland, Andy has been concentrating on writing songs and he has set up his own studio. He lives near the sea on Bantry Bay and enjoys sailing, water-skiing and windsurfing in the summer. He is
married and has a baby daughter called Alana who was born in September 1998. |
