Wide-median dual carriageway designed and managed by Cork National Roads Design Office & RPS MCOS Consulting Engineers, which commenced construction in Q4, 2001. 
The contractor is Gama-Tubin Contruction Ltd.  The scheme was completed December 2004

Cork school of Music: ref.04/54
Proposed and led the campaign in Council to extract a real commitment from Taoiseach Bertie Ahern to build the Cork school of Music, and will monitor this commitment.

 

Motions & Questions:

Question: Request the City Manager

a. To outline the number of dished /disability footpaths put in place as newly constructed / modified per year 2000-2001-2002-2003-2004-2005 to date.
b. To comment on the data supplied as to progress made towards
a mobility friendly City in the provisions of disability pavements
poor-fair-good-very good-excellent.

 
Question: Request the City Manager

to update Council on the proposal to reopen the churches in St Finbarr’s Cemetery.

 

Motions:

“That this Council will consider the need, feasibility, design etc and report on
the construction of a bridge over the Jack Lynch Tunnel and Dunkettle Roundabout by 2010
to complete the south ring road with continued access to the Cork-Dublin N8 motorway as promised by 2009”

 

“That this Council calls on the Government to return to Local Government
those powers lost to it over the past years with mechanisms to ensure that Councils and their members, where needs are clearly defined , acts responsibility in fulfilling and the carrying out of these powers.”

 

“That this Council calls on the Minister for Transport to encourage Aer Lingus, Ryan Air,
and other carriers departing from and arriving into Ireland, to operate alcohol free flights henceforth to avoid air rage and over exuberance putting hundreds of lives in
acute danger”
