St Michael’s Prayer Group was formed to help young people (age group 16 – 35) to discover the living presence of God at work in their lives. Meetings in St Michael’s Family Life Centre, Church Hill on Friday nights at 7.30pm include a time of prayer, singing, reflection, group work and social time. The group involves itself in youth and youth ministry and is actively involved in parish work including retreats and other spiritual work. The group is also part of the international organisation Youth 2000 which is involved in helping young people have a more meaningful relationship with Jesus as we approach the jubilee year. The group is run by young people for young people with the help of local clergy and religious leaders. Retreat weekends are organised in both Esker and Sligo and include Prayer, Mass, Adoration and talks. Youth 2000 is based on the early Church and basic Christian communities. You are always welcome to come along.
