After much dieing, I finally found the sweet spot for killing buffs in my P-51D mustang. I get up in their hi 7:00/8:00 postion, at about d18, and make sure my initial air speed at that location is about 275-300. I roll and dive in, letting my airspeed reach 375-400. I start shooting at d7, coming in on an arc, not a straight line, and keep shooting until I pass either over or under at d2-d1. I am moving fast enough that 70% of the time I get NO pings. If he is not dead (usually the case since I only have 6x.50) I repeat from the other side, and usually the scond pass gets him, making him explode or lose a wing. It takes about 50% of my ammo to kill a buff from a stang in this manner.

One thing to note, is that every time I hurry my approach, and do not follow the above rules, i.e. my initial airspeed is too slow, I try to climb up from the low 6 (even if I have good speed), I don't extend long enough and hurry my return pass, resulting in, again, too little airspeed, I usually end up smoking or dead, because as soon as you slow down, you reduce that relative speed aspect between you and otto, and he draws a deadly bead.

And if you must fly the hurri, attack from Head On if possible and NEVER NEVER NEVER from dead 6. This applies even more to the hurri than to other aircraft. As far as offline you need to fly a dedicated buff killer imho to have a chance at em. I use the 190a8 and attack from 2 oclock to 10 o clock then reverse and dive straight in on em.

The early war buffs are dern hard for the hurri to hit. You have to intercept them, not chase them.

well i fly the hurry because its a fun plane besides im the historical kind of guy who doesnt fly a plane because it kickes ass but because it relates to the historical time i like most of ww2 (battle of britain) ...... :) yep i like the focke wulf too....but there is something about the cockpit i just dont like...it looks way too modern to me :P is it really historically acurrent......even for the FwA4?

The pictures I've seen of the FW cockpit look pretty similar to what we have in WB. Except for the 6 view...but thats a whole 'nother big hook with a worm on the end...anyone? The FW was an extremely modern aircraft...single lever throttle with no mixture control...wide track landing gear, excellent roll characteristics, etc. Despite its high wingloading, it was considered realtively easy to fly.

As for your flying the hurri because its historical bob...well the hurri2 was not used in the BoB and I sure hope you aren't gonna try and take down buffs with a hurri1...suicide in the current state of WB...otto and the ju88a4 which is faster and more heavily armed than the variants in the bob

Anyway, you should definetly fly what you LIKE not what I do! You'll learn the strengths and weaknesses easily enough. With the hurri you just have to be aware that you're the slowest fighter there is, and you don't have the impressive power loading of contemporaries like the spit and zeke. You have to fly smart in the hurri.
