Message: Well its not the most sophisticated move you can make but in
the spitv at around 1000 ft when a bunch of guys are on your six a simple
split S. 1 out of 3 will auger following you in this move. Or staart a split
s, reverse and climb to stall do a wing over and KILL KILL KILL. Actually
I find A split S and YO YO in all the dif variations to be all a fighter
pilot needs, well a little luck never hurt.

Okay, here's my manuever, the rolling scissors. It's no secret, but in
the right situation it's a lifesaver. It works best for planes that retain
e-well and have good elevator control...okay it's a 190 move :) It's an
escape/turn the tables move and it's especially effective when you're close
to the deck and don't have many other options.
This is the way I use it: Let's say I'm flying a 190 and get bounced
by another 190 that's co-E or better. He's right on my six and I probably
can't execute any moves that he can't follow. I'm gonna be toast if something
doesn't happen quick--time for the rolling scissors.
Essentially, you just pretend you're on a roller coaster. Push the stick
forward and pull it back until you see black and red. In order to line up
the shot, the enema has to do the same thing, he'll see black and red too.
Human reaction times and net lag being what they are, his rolls (I mean
up and down roller coaster rolls, not the normal roll) are going to be a
little behind yours. Don't be predictable and don't take to long with your
rolls, otherwise he'll line you up. Pretty soon he'll be out of phase with
you, you'll be going down, while he's trying to yank his stick up or vice
versa.
At this point (assuming he didn't get a snap shot and kill you already,
which sometimes happens) there's two possible outcomes with the rolling
scissors, 1) you can roll out of there at 90 degrees. He probably can't
see you and his E advantage is gone at this point. You prolly have time
to either run awa...err extend or come and back get him on more equal terms,
or 2) let it go a little longer and after things get far enough out of phase
you can get a snapshot at him.
To make things more fun you can add a little bit of yaw and roll around
in 3 dimensions. However I've found the elevator response is better than
the rudder response in a 190 sodon't do it too much.
Just remember to have a barf bag handy before you try this one.

You mean the other guy always gets a pilot kill right? The ole' 'Hammerhead
flip' is a good one, but it's not for every time a guy is on your six. If
he's 'closing on your six', that means he has an E advantage on you. If
you try to go vertical, he will actually be able to climb faster than you
(remember wings don't count in the vertical), which means he'll cut you
to ribbons before you can hammerhead. Or if for some reason that doesn't
happen, you won't have time to get the shot off on your way down. In that
case, he'll be on his way down too--only right behind you!
Try the hammerhead when you are co-E or better and the guy is no closer
than d6.

I've got some time to kill, mind if I answer? Lephturn will, no doubt,
correct any mistakes I make.
: Can you describe the High yo-yo maneuver?
The "high yo-yo" is fairly specialized:
You're about to overshoot your pidgeon, and he's turning. You don't want
to blow all your energy by trying to saddle up, especially if he can out-turn.
Before you overshoot, pull up and grab some alt. on him. Roll 90 degrees
in the direction he was turning, and look out the roof of your canopy -
Oh! There he is!
Turn in his direction and start diving onto his 6, you'll have one beauty
of a shot.
: I'd like to practice it and give it a try.....
Of course, it only works on someone who doesn't realize what you're about
to do to his ride. If he reverses his turn, you're S.O.L.
: Thanks......
No prob. As you may've guessed, it's my fave too.
