Biography Dorothée Roberts, née Messéant, was born in 1961 in the north of France. Ten years later, she and her family moved to Senlis, a pretty little medieval town north of Paris and there, continued to live before moving to Ireland in 1983. 
By the age of sixteen, it had become clear to her that her future lay either in the realm of painting or music. She chose the former and from 1979 to 1983, studied at the Ecole Supérieure d'Art Graphique (Superior School of Graphic Arts), E.S.A.G. in Paris.Dorothée, formerly almost exclusively a watercolourist, now employs the mediums of acrylics and oils. Her objective as a painter is to animate the simplicity of her subjects by the colours and to create an atmosphere either dreamy, nostalgic or spiritual.
