The river Barrow towpath offers visitors endless opportunities to test their skills in the art of Angling for trout, salmon, and many species of coarse fish. Over 17 miles of unspoilt and under fished river awaits you. Graiguenamanagh has been a past venue for the Embassy Open Angling Championship and extensive facilities exist for the angler. Bait, tackle and sound advice are all available locally.

Brandon lake is a fine example of local enterprise, offering good lake fishing and an alternative venue if the lake is in flood. The river Nore is another major anglers attraction, especially for dry flyfishing. The section between Inistioge and Thomastown provides some of the best locations - a car trip of 20 minutes will get you there.

Facilities exist for Canoeing and Boating on the river Barrow at Graiguenamanagh. A boatslip is provided on the quay. Barge hire service is available from Valley Boats, Barrow Lane, Graiguenamanagh (Tel. 00 353-503-24 945).

For anyone interested in Golf Graiguenamanagh is at the centre of the South East sunshine circuit. It is within easy reach of Mount Juliet, Borris, Carlow and Enniscorthy golf courses.

The glory of Graiguenamanagh is the lush beautiful countryside that surrounds it. Judge for yourself by seeing it - and the only way to take in all aspects of the wonders of nature is by walking. This is an exceptionally good area for wildlife and, if you are lucky, you may see an otter, stoat, mink, fox, badger or cormorant, as well as regulars such as swans, waterhens, grey herons, dippers, and kingfishers. These also attract a dazzling array of butterflies.

Brandon hill is the highest point in County Kilkenny and it has as many walks as you can want. You can walk the length and range of Brandon, emerging around Inistioge.
