Cara seems to be having loads of fun in Helena, Montana. We are so envious of the snow that has been falling over there - we so rarely get snow. Ireland is situated in the path of an ocean current called the North Atlantic Drift. This current originates in the Gulf of Mexico and keeps our country a little too warm to have much snow. To have any real chance to see snow, we need to travel further inland or climb on to higher ground.
Thanks to Mrs. Dorrington once again for the following.
"Wow, what is all of this? First, I thought it was
beautiful white sand and when I went outside it was cold. The snow is dry
and falls apart when I touch it. I am so glad I had my sweater on to keep
me warm for it was was below freezing, fifteen degrees Faherenheit. I'm
not sure of the degrees celsius since in America they don't use that system
of measurement too often. But it is cold. There is about 18 inches of
this beautiful white snow. I can't wait to go sledding and skiing."
"It may be cold but the sun shines brightly!
Wish you could all be here with me to play in the snow and be
warmed with a cup of steaming hot chocolate."
"The fifth graders took me outside to build a
snowman. The weather was too cold and the snow wouldn't stick. We tried
and tried but it just didn't work. We all came back into the room and made
snowmen out of some clay."
