Our Base

Leisureways Holidays are based at Thomastown Harbour just three miles from Kinnegad (N4) We are just over one hour's drive from the Dublin ferry ports or Dublin Airport.

To See and Do


The Royal Canal is essentially a rural waterway running through small villages, quiet farmland, bogs rich in colour, and past old-fashioned pubs.
Its people are helpful and friendly, its towpaths rich in plants and wildlife, its waters well stocked with fish.
Bicycles are available without charge if you want to explore further afield. Visit the university town of Maynooth with its beautiful college chapel and museum, sop at Mullingar (famous for pewter) or enjoy the many pubs and restaurants along the route.

Our Boats

Newly built to our own specifications our boats are steel wide-beam 9-10 ft. cruising vessels. Everything you would expect to make your holiday enjoyable is provided.
Standard fittings include full central heating, hot water, shower, electric toiled, full-sized cooker with separate oven and grill, fridge and lots of room. All bed linen is provided along with a full set of utensils, crockery. Open decks at both ends allow the crew to relax outside and enjoy the slow pace of the waterways. All you need to bring is waterproof clothing, non-slip footwear and your own towels.
