Each student in a particular second year class was asked to provide answers to a number of simple interview type questions. The following pen pictures were compiled from the results:

"I live in the parish of Gortanumera which is about 4 miles from the school. I leave home at 8.35 each morning and get home at about 4.30pm. In my spare time I like hurling and fishing and also help out on the family farm. In school my favourite subject is metalwork. If I had a choice I would love to be a professional soccer player in England but realistically will probably be a farmer. The person I would most like to meet in the world is the Brazilian soccer player Ronaldo."

"I am from the small village of Tiernascragh which is about 4 miles from Portumna. I get the bus to school at 8.35 each day at get home at 5 pm. My main interest outside of school is camogie and I have won a number of coiunty medals. At home i work in the family grocery shop. My favourite subject in school is art. 10 years from now I would like to be living in Portland Oregon and be able to snow-board. My favourite T.V. programme is friends."
