Welcome to Ireland
Ireland is an Island situated in the Atlantic Ocean. Its capital city is Dublin. There are mountains all along the West of Ireland. The interior of Ireland is dotted with lakes and the country is traversed by many rivers. The longest of which is the river Shannon. It flows Southwest passing through a number of the country's inland towns before reaching the great Atlantic Ocean. One third of the country's population lives in Dublin. Dublin's city centre is where all the action is, in the city centre is where you will find all the good restaurants, and good Irish pubs where you can enjoy Ireland's famous beers and a pint of Guinness. And at night time Temple bar, is the place to be!!

Population
Ireland has a population of 3,632,944 people, and 1,056,666 of these people live in the countries Capital of Dublin, the size of Ireland for all these people to live on 70,280 square.km. The largest cities in Ireland are Dublin, Belfast, Cork, Derry, Galway and Limerick.

Climate
The climate and temperature in Ireland is maritime, the weather is modified, by the North Atlantic current, we have mild and wet winters, the summers are warm and dry.

Language
Irish or Gaelge is the official language of the country. it is spoken on a daily basis in some parts of the west of Ireland. The latter areas are known as the Gaeltacht. In Ireland, the road signs are in both Irish and English. English, however, is the language spoken by the vast majority of the people. Both Irish and English are taught in most schools.

Religion
There are about 93 per cent of Irish people are Roman Catholic. The Catholic Church plays an important part in the lives of the Irish people, 82 per cent still attend mass every Sunday.
