Its been a long time coming, but our years of work and commitment have finally paid off.

On Sunday 26th of January Strokestown were crowned under 21's champions for the first time in the clubs history. This isn't just about this year, not even about last year when we worked so hard to lose the county final by a point after a replay, this is about the last 11 years this team has been together.

Thus closes the final chapter of the Town's most successful underage team ever.

Path to the final:

First Match:

Strokestown 2-17 Ballimameen 0-2

Many Strokestown players had recently performed in the connacht club final and speculation was rife that the U-21 team suffer because of this. However, Ballinameen were no match for the Town and the match was a very one-sided affair.

Second Round:

Strokestown 1-12

Tulsk 0-6

A local Derby like this one always proves difficult, this one was more difficult than the scoreline suggests. Some dogged Tulsk defending meant that the lads had to work for every score.

Eire Og 2-05

The nost difficult match to date, strokestown were comfortably in the lead until eire og scored 2 goals in quick succession in teh second half. However, during the periods when the lads were playing well, there was no comparsion and the match was always out of Eire Ogs reach. We now progress to a county final against St aidans
