Book Description
Explores the extraordinary technique that put authentic
healing into the hands of health care providers.
Examines the relationship between expanded levels
of consciousness and the healing process.
Contains healing exercises for treating common
ailments such as stomachaches and back pain, and
practices for managing chronic stress.
Based on transcribed audiotapes of lectures by
medical intuitive Dora Kunz (1904-1999), with commentary
by Dolores Krieger.
Since 1972 Therapeutic Touch has been taught in hospitals
and at universities to tens of thousands of health care
professionals. The Spiritual Dimension of Therapeutic
Touch provides an intimate glimpse into the life work of
Dora Kunz (1904-1999), medical intuitive and fifth-generation
clairvoyant, who used her gifts to reach out to others in
her capacity as healer and teacher.
During their years of research and healing practice
together, Dolores Krieger and her mentor, Dora Kunz,
found illness to be caused by specific subtle energy
imbalances. The Spiritual Dimension of Therapeutic Touch
teaches how to rebalance the body's energy through touch,
visualization, and a spiritual acceptance of life's
inevitable cycle. These exercises can be used both to
heal physical pain and to achieve mental and spiritual
peace. The authors also examine the important
interconnected relationship between healer and patient.
The book includes never-before-transcribed lectures by
Dora Kunz, with commentary from Dolores Krieger,
exploring expanded levels of consciousness as they relate
to the healing process.

A Customer Review
Accepting Your Power to Heal, May 3, 2001
Reviewer: sismith (see more
about me at Amazon.com) from
Yuma,AZ
Therapeutic Touch involves using your hands to heal all
living beings by "consciously directing or
sensitively modulating human energies." It doesn't
require physical contact. Therapeutic Touch is based on
several principles, two of which are "illness is an
imbalance in an individual's energy field" and
"human beings have natural abilities to transform
and transcend their conditions of living."
Therapeutic Touch was developed and refined by Dr.
Dolores Krieger and Dora Kunz, based on their studies of
ancient healing practices. They've since taught the
procedure to thousands of health care practitioners and
laypersons.
Dr. Krieger's book, Accepting Your Power to Heal: The
Personal Practice of Therapeutic Touch, teaches readers
how help themselves and their loved ones with Therapeutic
Touch. The process involves "centering"
yourself, then becoming sensitive to the energy fields
all living beings have.
Therapeutic Touch can be used to help people relax, to
reduce pain, and accelerate healing. Dr. Krieger provides
numerous examples of benefits, including relief from the
pain of cancer, headaches, burns, and fractured bones.
Therapeutic Touch is also helpful to pregnant women and
people suffering from chronic conditions like asthma.
Some people have also used it to help their pets, while
others have used it in their gardens.
Accepting Your Power to Heal has been on the book
stands for several years. The method outlined in it has
been proven time and again to be beneficial to people
suffering from various illnesses, including AIDS. Readers
"who are committed to helping or healing persons in
need" will find it to be an invaluable resource.

Synopsis
Krieger developed her system of therapeutic touch during
her years as a nurse in the 1970s. Therapeutic touch is a
non-invasive technique that uses the flow of energy
through the palms to soothe and heal. Through these audio
cassettes, Krieger teaches easy-to-learn techniques so
that listeners can discover their own healing power and
apply it to everyone they touch. The tape comes with an
illustrated study guide.

Book Description
A research-based text, primarily written for nurses who
are integrating complementary therapies in their
professional practice. Also appropriate for complementary
therapists with an interest in therapeutic touch.
Therapeutic touch (based on the ancient arts of healing
and laying on of hands) is now the most widely used
complementary therapy in the USA. Because of this, over
the last 15 years extensive research and trials on its
effectiveness have been carried out. As interest in
complementary therapies among conventional health care
practitioners in the UK continues to grow, nurses are
increasingly keen to add therapeutic touch to the
complementary medical skills they employ in practice.
This book is written by the UK's main teacher and
practitioner of therapeutic touch, Jean Sayre-Adams, co-founder
of the Didsbury Trust (an organisation which raises funds
to support her teaching). It is co-authored by Steve
Wright - a well-known European name in nursing and
complementary therapies. Nurses can feel confident in the
authority and ability of this research-based introductory
text from the UK's leading practitioner to impart
effectively the theory and practice of therapeutic touch
skills.
