On Friday, 29th March we had a "Swinging Sixties" day in Fifth Class! We had been learning about the sixties in History. We learned about the lifestyle of the sixties, the changes in music and about famous people, such as Martin Luther King who believed in equality between blacks and whites.We dressed up as hipppies - some of us made great Beach Boys and Elvis made an appearance too! It was very colourful and there were lots of headbands and flared trousers. Flowers and peace symbols were everewhere. It was nicer than our grey uniforms.
We really enjoyed listening and dancing to the music of the Sixties - the Beatles, Lulu, and Gerry and the Pacemakers made guest appearances. Some of us even tried to jive!
Leonie kindly answered all our questions about the Sixties. It seemed like a great time! We reminded some of our staff members of their mini-skirt and showband days.
Overall, we had a far-out time and send peace and love to all our friends and family - especially Cara Bear and our new friends in Montana. Rock on!!!
