In
Summertime trees, particularly deciduous trees, are leafy – coniferous trees
tend to have needles rather than true leaves.
In winter the needles of the coniferous 
trees
are still fresh – looking and green, but those of the deciduous trees have all
gone. They fall to the ground in Autumn, but come the following spring new ones
grow.
During the winter months the Deciduous trees stand like dark skeletons around the
countryside and if you look at them closely you will see that the different species can be distinguished from each other by their shapes and branch structure.
