The Brewery The great Northern Brewery is now called the Harp Larger. It employs lots of people. My uncle is a supervisor in Harp. It makes three different kinds of beer, Harp Lager, Carlsberg and Guinness. Harp is made from hops, barley and water and a few other ingredients. The drink is not bottled in Harp. It is taken away in big tanks to another Brewery called Mc Ardle and Moore. Long ago they moved the beer by horse and cart but now they move it in big tankers. They also move it by train. The Harp Lager Brewery is in Dundalk town. They also make Harp in Germany in a town called Munich. There is a story that says Harp is made in these two towns because the water in both towns is perfect for making Harp Larger. By Orlagh |
