THE DESCENT OF POWER

Nigel Doverspike: The only methuselah of this generation rumored to still be active. Currently the most influential line, known for their manipulation, subterfuge, and careful use of influence.

Khumenes (ku-MEN-ez): The most influential line before about 2000 years ago, they are known for being empire builders. Khumenes himself is believed to have built Ancient Egypt millenia ago. They are also known for being survivalists, and wandering far distances, but they do not adapt well to new technology or new ideas. Khumenes has not been heard from in over 2000 years.

Serena DuBois: The youngest line and smallest, they are rebellious as Ventrue go. That is they  prefer to work independantly rather than stay too close to other Ventrue. They also adapt readily to new things, including technology. This line is rumoured to have beget the Ventrue antitribu. They are also known for their charisma and presence. Despite their line, they are as respected as any Ventrue until they prove they should not be. She has not been heard from since the Renaissance.

Mercurius: {NB. this is ‘our’ Methuslah} This line is little known in the New World. Mercurius is thought to have been responsible for the introduction of writing and the sciences and thus is sometimes identified with many ‘messenger’ gods Thoth, Hermes etc. The line is known for its curiousity, experimentation and study. Many new ideas spring from it such as the philosophies upon which the foundations of Empires and governments are built.

Noah of Doverspike: The eldest childe of Nigel, Noah arose as successor to the Ventrue
Monarchy during the late 19th Century amid a period of Camarilla discontent. His descendants occupy most of the influential seats of power within the Clan. He also made them earn it. Most of this line claim Western European, Medditeranean and New World heritage.

Olga Freyasdotter: The second childe of Nigel, Olga became the chief Minister of the Clan, often assuming responsibility and carrying the Clan when it's Monarchs were away. She disappeared during the early 20th Century. Her whereabouts are unknown. Olga's decendants are known for their ardent support and often harsh criticism. Many claim heritage from Northern Europe to Eastern Europe and the New World.

William: The youngest childe of Nigel, William dissapeared during the foundation of the Camarilla. It is rumored that he was destroyed by the Inquisition during those dark times. His childer number only one, named Alexander.
 
 

 Merenptah (mer-en-TAH): Child of Khumenes. This line begat many of the middle eastern ventrue, as well as extending into europe and russia. This is the largest of Khumenes' lines. He is occasionally heard from still (or heard of), generally in Europe of the Middle East.

 Jafar (ja-FAR): Child of Khumenes. Jafar travelled around the world and is known to have begat ventrue in Africa, Asia, and the Americas. His current wherabouts are unknown and are the subject of much speculation.

 Nabis (NAY-bis): Khumenes' youngest child, who is said to have been killed at Carthage. His death still makes many elders bitter. Believed to have sired lines into Europe and Russia.
 
 

 Montague Halloway Carpenter: Serena's only known child. He was a Justicar in the 1700s, and was destroyed as a traitor to the Ventrue and to The Camarilla by a Brujah Methuselah. Hesired one child, Nicholas (Nicholai) Udugov.
 

Haemocrates: Childe of Mercurius. Haemocrates was a great influence of Greek and Roman thought. Known for his interest in medicine, finances and the state especially justice. His childer wandered far on the back of the Roman Empire. It is thought he eventually sought Golconda and hasn’t been seen for some 2000 years.

Themis: Childe of Mercurius. Themis was the daughter of a Phoenician inventor and magician, she showed fascination with machines, knowledge and more esoteric studies. Her disappearance is shrouded in mystery. Rumour suggests she died fighting the Secret Masters, her detractors say she was destroyed by her lust for answers to the universe.
 
 

Ulrik Ericson: Childe of Haemocrates. Ulrik was a priest of Wodin amongst the Saxon peoples as they began invading Britian and Ireland. He is known to have been a harsh judge, a keeper and creator of the laws. Ulrik was highly influential in the creation of Bernicia, the Saxon kingdoms in Britian. He was known to be resident in Jorvich (York).

Laris Pascen: Childe of Haemocrates. Laris was a Gaulish merchant. His love of wealth and complex use of  boons, loans and financial trickery made him a devil to deal with. Often however he was the only devil that could acquire the goods. It is often thought the Norman invasions were under his influence and bankrolling to consolidate his supply routes. He moved to London with the Angevin kings.
 
 

Antonius Marcus Flavius: Childe of Themis. Antonius was a Roman General during campaigns against the Gauls. After the invasion of Britian he moved to the North of England. His interests followed many of his Sires and he is thought lost while on his self termed Shadow Crusade.

Gabriel O’Connell: Childe of Themis. Gabriel was a monk an Irish monastery  a master illuminator of  manuscripts and keeper of the archives. He followed in the footsteps of Columba in bringing the Word to the people of Britian and compiling history of the land. As far as anyone can tell he is still writing.
