Devsirme is a new and exciting band led by one of Ireland's most lnternationally respected jazz musicians and composers, and featuring
five of the best players on the lrish jazz scene. The music they play - all new compositions by Ronan Guilfoyle demonstrates the composer's interest
in making music that uses a powerful blend of written material and lmprovisation which is blended into a cohesive whole within which the traditionaI
jazz virtues of strong improvisation and swing are never far from the surface. Devsirme consists of Brendan Doyle
(Sax), Michael Buckley (Sax), Karl Ronan
(Trombone), Ronan Guilfoyle (Bass) and Conor Guilfoyle (Drums).
