Liam O'Neachtain --:

lon2.gif (22649 bytes)Liam O'Neachtain joined the staff in 1976 having previously taught in St. Michael's College, Ballsbridge, Dublin and C.B.S. Crumlin. He was born in Dublin in 1952, but  grew up in Waterford City.

He is a past pupil of St. Declan's N.S., Water St., and De La Salle College, Waterford and of Oatlands College, Mount Merrion, Co. Dublin. He is a graduate of the 'Froebel College of Education', Sion Hill, Blackrock, Co. Dublin.

He has a keen interest in sport, DIY, gardening, philately and computers. He also has a love of music and is a member of the Edmund Rice Choral & Musical Society, Waterford and was a member of the special choir which sang for the Beatification of Blessed Edmund Rice in Rome in October, 1996.

He is the driving force in the school behind the schools much success in the IT field, his classes having won three national Internet based competitions. He was appointed an IT tutor by the INTO/NCTE in 1998 and has delivered many courses to teachers on the use of "Information Technology" in their classrooms. He was also a guest presenter at an International Teachers Conference "Cybersteps" in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada in August, 1998 on the use of IT in Irish classrooms.

He is married to Grainne and has two grown up sons.The eldest Ronan is currently in Australia having graduated in Tourism and Marketing. While Killian is studying "Computer Systems" in University of Limerick.
