Stamp Collecting is by far the most popular pastime in the world ,enjoyed by all ages and nationalities. The reasons for collecting are as varied as the people who collect. Some people collect to learn more about other countries, people, places, plants, animals, etc. Others are attracted by the works of art. Indeed, many of Ireland’s and the world’s greatest artists have their work transferred onto stamps.

Another source of interest for collectors revolves around specific themes. Thematic collecting is particularly popular with young people and allows them to gather together stamps on their particular interest i.e. horses, sport, nature... the list is endless.

In our stamp club we learn about many things and find out interesting things about many people and places. We put our stamps into our stock books and do projects on our favourite stamps.
