Medical Log: Supplemental - Click to visit

This tribute to Alexander Siddig, (Siddig El Fadil), and his character Julian Bashir is comprehensive, and stunning. The graphics, however impressive they are, are not the only strong point of this site. It is the sheer volume of information that makes it. There is not only text information, but the diversity of multiple media to complement it. Pictures and sounds are abundant throughout.

The first section of the site deals with the character and the actor, with a biography of both, and filmography of Siddig. There is also an interesting selection of Quotes from Bashir, in sound also.

But it doesn't end with Bashir. In the infirmary we find Crew profiles of the rest of the DS9 crew, and Bashir's relations with them all, from the O'Brien friendship, to the amusing banter with Garak (In my mind, the best DS9 character). For the less informed, or just those who need some more insight, the introduction to Starfleet Medicine will show you the difference between a medical tricorder, and a normal one. For a finale, a xenobiology section provides an insight into the various alien races in DS9, Cardassians, Bajoraans, Klingons. Complete with sound bytes and picz.

The "Deep Space Nine" section broadens the picture somewhat, with a series-wide selection of DS9 information; Episode reviews with picz, info on aliens from all four quadrants, wormhole theory. The promenade is a place to find out about Quark's bar, Garak's shop, Odo's office, the Bajoraan temple, even a Klingon restaurant. There is also the latest DS9 news (gossip) here. Operations gives an overview of the physical station, info on weapons, the Defiant, the Runabout pads, and other technical aspects.

A personal section completes the job, with the author's personal musings about Trek, Links (and an Awards system) and some background info one the site.

This site is huge, so be prepared for slow progress through it. Also the graphics, which really are incredible, DO slow it down quite a lot. I don't approve of such graphics intensity, but it isn't too much of a drawback here.

Visit the site now, it is worth it. Ranked 4 Star Gold (****) in LinkZone.

Star Trek ASCII Art Home Page - Click to Visit

Any idea what "ASCII art" is? Well, ASCII is the name of the PC character set (all the letters, no.s etc.). Hence, ASCII is art made just with text characters, whether letters, or the lines / \ - _ | which are on the keyboard. An example is *~()___) (A stick of lit dynamite). Get it?

Now, the ST ASCII Art homepage is a collection of Star Trek objects drawn in this manner. Most are original ones by the author, others are imported. There are drawings of starships, (many different classes), logos, Star Trek titles and even characters. A lot of the characters are a different sort of ascii Art, the image is translated by computer into letters. Some are actually by hand. Take a look at a very strange, but complex nevertheless, art form.

I find it funny that the webmaster has received Emails complaining that the pictures are just made out of lines. That's the point! Try it, it isn't as easy as it seems, but most people are able enough to do it. :o)
