Day 1 ~  Dear Diary --:
On Friday the 5th of May I was delivered to the Edmund Rice Primary School in Tramore, Co. Waterford, Ireland. I came all the way from a school called Topsail in Newfoundland. I was in my special box when I arrived. In fact I came over in the same box that Tommy came in from Ireland. It was a really comfortable  box, as there was lots of soft sponge for me to rest on. Mr. O' Neachtain opened the box and I was wrapped up inside.  When this was finished, he had a raffle and Shane Fleming said no.3. I was delighted that Shane was picked first,as he is a very nice boy.  He then asked Shane to come up to his desk He asked Shane "do you want to take Tuckamore home in his box with his cushions or in Shane's bag”. Shane said he would take him in his box. At 3 o’clock it was time to go home so Shane packed his bag and went to the school gate. Shane's Mum was there, and she said I was beautiful. Then Shane's Mum brought us home. The road was bumpy and there were stones all over the road.

When we got home we watched TV. We watched all of Shane’s favourite programmes. We watched 'The Rugrats' and after that we watched 'Pokemon' it was very good. Then we had dinner. We had Cantonese Chicken and rice. It was delicious. When dinner was over me and Shane and his brother Liam went up the knock. We had great fun. We played hide and seek. Shane found Liam and then Liam had to be on. When we were finished playing we went back inside and got a drink. I nearly drank 5 glasses of water and we had some juice too. It was nice and cold. Then we went into the dining room and watched a soccer match between Barcelona and Valencia. Valencia won. These are two Spanish football teams. Then we played the computer. We played FIFA 1999 and Sonic 3D. I thought Sonic was very good but FIFA was a little bit better. Shane is a very good player on the computer, I just watched at first and then Shane showed me how to play. I wasn’t very good. I slept very well as I was so tired from being locked up in that stuffy box and the long journey over here from Canada. I was late getting up next morning, but I went to bed happy as I felt I was going to have a really good time here in Ireland. I can’t wait for tomorrow. The next morning we headed to school. I was still a bit sleepy. I was placed on Shane’s table where I soon fell asleep in my box. The boys did their work and worked very quietly so I could have a good rest.
