Chamonix Alps TripThese are a selection of photos from my mountaineering trip to the Alps in July 2002. I was in France for the Mountaineering Council of Ireland (MCI) Alpine Meet. There were between 100 and 150 people over for climbing, walking and general mountaineering in Chamonix, the mecca of European climbing. Having loads of craic at the same time goes without saying! These pictures have been reduced in size. Click on any image for the full size version.
But the mountains that dominate the valley are those of the Mt Blanc Massif. Looking from left to right the peaks are, Aiguille du Midi [3842m], Mont Blanc du Tacul [4248m], Mont Maudit [4465m], Mont Blanc [4808m], Dome du Gouter [4304m] and the Aiguille de Gouter [3786m] Remember them, as you will see them again here! |
