Aiguille de l'M
With a short days walking under the belt I hooked up with three other lads and
we headed off to do some climbing. Our target was the Aiguille de l'M on the
Plan du Aiguille. The Aiguille gets its name from its "M" shape when seen from
below in the valley. The top is about 2500m, so we got a telepherique to the
plan and then walked to the base of the route.
|
The route is about 200m of rock climbing of grade III and IV,
pretty much up the face you see here.
|
From the base of the route you can look east over to the Aiguille
Verte and les Dru above the Mer de Glace.

Unfortunately we didn't move fast enough on the route and we got a bit lost
at one stage. Despite all that we made it to the summit. Here Kieran and
Milo are setting up an abseil for our descent. But because of the delays
we missed the last telepherique down the mountain. So we ended up making a very
interesting descent through forest at night, with only the light of a camera
range finder to light the way! | |
