Our Environment

We were kindly given a lot of trees by Wicklow County Council to plant in our school grounds.  One day recently every child and teacher in the school went out to help plant the trees.  Our caretaker, Jim, had everything ready.  All the holes were dug and the trees were just waiting to be planted!  Jim helped children from each class to plant the trees in the school grounds.

We will care for the trees and watch them grow and change through each passing season.  When they grow big enough we will be able to do bark and leaf rubbings. We hope the trees will attract more birds and wildlife into our garden.  They will also add more charm and interest to our already beautiful landscape.

We took lots of photographs of the girls planting the trees.
Here is a selection of them.

Some more photographs of the younger children preparing to plant and grow their own vegetables!
Enjoying the flowers in the garden at the front of the school.
