Also we strongly encourage pupils and parents to continue bringing in the drink cans and plastic rings for recycling.

Green Schools

We have set up a ‘Green Schools’ committee in school.
Committee members are:

2nd   Carla Evans & Shauna Byrne

3rd   Erica Roche & Rachel Donnelly

4th   Grainne Campbell & Imelda Kavanagh

5th   Louise Walker,  Jennifer Gammell & Courtney Cullen

6th   Rebecca Kavanagh,  Aine Fortune & Rachel Doyle

Parent:   Mrs. Lorraine O’Toole has tilled and prepared the vegetable plot in the school grounds. Already she and 1st class have planted, lettuce, spring onions, broad beans, carrots, and parsley. All eager eyes are focused on the wonder of growth.

Jim, our dedicated caretaker has assembled a big compost bin. On 3rd April he also planted, with the help of all the pupils, 20 deciduous trees, 10 Beech and 10 Rowan. Mrs. Sutcliffe took several natural and attractive photographs. These pictures adorn the corridor walls. So if you happen to be near the school do come in and have a look.

Two teachers Ms. O’Neill and Mrs. Sutcliffe and classroom assistant Annette Kinsella are also on the committee. Green Schools is a Europe wide project designed to encourage whole school/community action for the environment.

Rainbows

The second ‘Rainbows’ programme is finished.  We shall give you details of a new programme in September.
Again our grateful appreciation and thanks to parents: Anne Ledwidge, Johanna Finnegan, Cathy Donnelly and Lynda Ryan who give their time and talents so
generously and voluntarily.

Golden Web Award

We have been awarded the Golden Web Award for our school website. A very special word of thanks to Mrs. Sutcliffe for all her hard work in setting up and constantly updating our website. We would love you to visit our website and sign our guest book at:
