The CSPCA was founded at a special meeting held at the Imperial Hotel on 19th November 1870. If you would like to read more about our history then please visit History Section Aims Of the Society:
Operation Of the SocietyThe main function of the Society is as the name suggests to prevent cruelty throughout the County of Cork. An inspector is employed by the Society to investigate all complaints of cruelty however small. As our powers are limited we can contact the Gardai whenever we think a case warrants a prosecution. The Gardai can then decide to prosecute and we depend on the Judge to deliver a stiff sentence.
Another important aspect of the Societies work is Educating People about Animal Welfare. |
