Glinsk Song Contest 2003 CP Audio provided the Computerised Scoreboard software for the contest again in 2003. The event took place on Sunday, July 6th. The winning entry, "Honoured", was composed and sung by Emma Staunton. Her song received 66 points, gaining the lead after the sixth adjudicator's scores had been added to the scoreboard. Second place went to "Feeling Loved", composed and sung by Fiona Coleman, seven points behind on 59 points. Third place went to "Everytime I Close My Eyes", written by Brian Aherne and Michael Hussey and sung by Michael Hussey, which received 56 points. Second placed "Feeling Loved" took an early lead with a maximum 10 points from the first, third and fourth adjudicators, but received only 4 points from the fifth adjudicator. "Honoured" scored well early on to claim a stake in what turned out to be a two "song" race, but eventually won out with two maximum 10 points to add to 9 points and 8 points from the last four adjudicators to become the eventual winner. Tim Ambler, a previous winner in Glinsk entertained the audience while the eight adjudicators came to their decision on the finalists. The 2003 contest, the biggest song contest in Ireland this year, attracted more than 150 entries from all over Ireland and England. ·2007 results |
